Our Bluebonnet seeds are scarified for quick germination. Scientific Name: Lupinus texensis (Fabaceae family)

The Texas Bluebonnet is a hardy winter annual native to Texas. The "State Flower of Texas", this is the most common wildflower seen along highways, country roads and in uncultivated pastures throughout the state from March through May. Showy, pea-like spike blossoms open above lacy, sage green foliage. Flowers are densely arranged with a white icing tip. Bluebonnets need well drained soil and do not tolerate soggy clay based soils. Prefers a sloped area in light sandy to gravel mix, welldrained soil. Requires full sun.

Suggested Uses: Raised flower beds, half wooden barrels, hanging baskets, mixtures, hillsides, roadsides and meadows. Miscellaneous: Easy to grow from seed, but do best when you do not have too much rainfall and plants are in welldrained soils.
